Build a standard charcuterie board (cured meats, cheeses, crackers, olives, grapes) but frame it as "evidence": use a black sharpie on kraft paper underneath to draw a chalk outline around the board, and label small flag picks "Exhibit A," "Exhibit B," etc. next to each item.
"Fingerprint" Deviled Eggs
Make a classic deviled egg filling (hard-boiled yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt). Pipe into egg white halves, then use a fine paintbrush or toothpick dipped in paprika to draw a swirled "fingerprint" pattern across the top of each one.

"Body of Evidence" Stuffed Peppers
Halve and roast bell peppers, then fill with a seasoned rice, ground meat (or plant-based crumble) and tomato mixture. The red pepper "shell" doubles as a visual nod to the theme without needing a pun on the name card.

Layer cubed red velvet cake, cream cheese frosting or whipped cream, and a dark berry compote in a clear glass bowl so the deep red layers show through — visually dramatic with almost no effort, and easy to portion in advance.

Dip pretzel rods in melted white or dark chocolate, then dust the top third with edible gold or silver shimmer to resemble candlesticks — a nod to the classic "candlestick in the library" weapon.

Combine cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, a splash of lime, and ginger ale or soda water for fizz. Serve in a large glass dispenser with frozen cranberries as "ice" so it doesn't dilute, and float a few mint leaves for garnish. For an adult version, add a spiced dark rum or vodka.

Shake chilled espresso (or strong cold brew), a splash of vanilla syrup, and a little cream or oat milk over ice; strain into a coupe glass. Sharp, dark, and dramatic to sip while someone's under questioning.
